The Hudson’s Bay Company is Canada’s oldest department store, and remains one of the most successful and relevant today. There are 90 brick and mortar stores exclusively in Canada, but only one website. As online shopping surpassed in-store purchases it became increasingly important to make the website accessible and attractive to The Bay’s diverse customers. As part of the digital creative team, I assisted in developing a new and contemporary look for thebay.com. The website re-launched in the summer of 2014 with a revitalized design based on strong brand standards, editorial photography and a stronger, unified voice. To compliment the website, the design and distribution of emails to customers was curated with the same brand standards.
